We are back at it with the wildcard round of the playoffs, with the Chiefs and Saints having earned I bye, they will not be mentioned after this. There will be 3 games on Saturday and 3 on Sunday with the new playoff format, so let's get right into the reasoning behind each game playing out how I have them playing out!
49ers @ Packers: yes the 49ers have destroyed the Packers in their last 3 meetings, including week 1 of the 2020 season. There, however, has been 1 thing in common during each of those last 3 games. That is each of those games were in San Francisco and now, with this game in Green Bay in quite possibly the snow, I have to give the Packers a nod here.
Colts @ Titans: a divisional rivalry renewed for a third time this season, both teams took one game each, meaning this is the rubber match. I have to give this one to the Colts because I believe this game ultimately comes down to which QB makes a clutch last minute play and I have to give that moment to Philip Rivers.
Seahawks @ Cardinals: for the 3rd time this season, both prior matchups also went to the Cardinals and it comes down to me genuinely believing that the Cardinals are better than the Seahawks. Additionally, if this game is a shootout, as I expect it to be, I have to pick the offense that is tailored toward shootouts, which is the Cardinals.
Broncos @ Bills: Defense is the key here, even if it does snow, the Broncos are somewhat used to that weather. Ultimately I believe the Bills defense not giving up a late TD to the Broncos and holding on to win.
Steelers @ Ravens: another rubber match, this time I also have the road team beating the home team, as in this rivalry, since 2010, the road team has won as often as the home team with 11 victories going each way. And if for no other reason, I believe the Steelers defense will throw Lamar Jackson off his game in the playoffs yet again.
Buccaneers @ Cowboys: I expect this to be an offensive battle that comes down to the wire, and in clutch time, give me Tom Brady.
